Short English bio

Poet, writer and performer.
He is one of the European pioneers of spoken word and ‘spoken music’ and introduced poetry slam to Italy.
He has published various poetry books and CDs, with musicians such as P. Fresu, F. Nemola, A. Salis, M.P. De Vito, M.Gross, C. Loguercio, L. Cinque, R. Paci Dalò, including Farfalle da combattimento (Bompiani, 1999), Fast Blood (2003 – Delfini di Poetry Prize, with illustrations by Sandro Chia), L?esercizio della lingua (Le Lettere, 2010) Piccola cucina cannibale (Squi[libri], 2012), with F. Nemola and C. Calia), for who was awarded the 2012 Premio Napoli.
His next book-CD, again with Frank Nemola and with the participation of Paolo Fresu, is Il fiore inverso (Squi[libri], 2016), which was awarded the “Elio Pagliarani” National Poetry Prize.
In 2022 he published Razos (La nave di Teseo), winner of the Bologna in Lettere and Paolo Prestigiacomo prizes.

It is translated into French (by Lella Le Pillouer), English, Spanish (by Renato Sandoval), Catalan (by Eduard Escoffet), Galician (by Yolanda Castano), Japanese, Greek, German, Brazilian (by Haroldo De Campos), Chinese and Arabic (by Joumana Haddad).

His novels are now brought together in IL Cristo elettrico, Transeuropa, 2021.

Since 2017 he has been the Chief Editor of Canzoniere, a series of books/CDs dedicated to poetry with music and Poetry comix, published by Squilibri.
Since 2021 he has directed, with Valerio Cuccaroni, the ‘Chimere’ series by Argolibri, dedicated to foreign poetry.
